LEAD ASSESSORS
The lead assessors are responsible for conducting the accreditation work for DANAK in the various areas. The assessors have a technical background, for example as engineers, but may also come from areas such as biology, health research, etc.
DANAK has about 20 lead assessors, divided into two sections in the DANAK organization. Assessors each have their own areas of expertise.
The two sections are; the section for testing, calibrating and medical examination and the section for certification and inspection.
They accredit in these following areas:
SECTION FOR TESTING, CALIBRATION AND MEDICAL EXAMINATION:
- Testing: Laboratories which by testing determine the properties of a substance, product or subject - so-called testing laboratories
- Calibration: Laboratories that calibrate measuring instruments – so-called calibration laboratories.
- Medical examination: Laboratories accredited to examine samples from the human body- most often they are hospital laboratories.
SECTION FOR CERTIFICATION AND INSPECTION:
- Certification: DANAK accredits certification bodies wishing to certify either products, management systems or persons.
- Inspection: Accreditation with regards to companies that want to carry out inspections of, for example, lifts, playground equipment and the like.
- Validation and Verification: Accreditation of validation/verification bodies that validate and/or verify companies' declarations. Typically statements ragarding emissions of greenhouse gases.
- EMAS: Accreditation of companies who wish to verify in accordance with the EU’s eco-management scheme EMAS.
