BOARD OF DIRECTORS
DANAK was separated from the Danish Business Authority in order to continue as a business-oriented Fund in 2003. The Fund was established by the Danish Business Authority and a number of parties in the field of metrology, certification, laboratories and industry.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The original founders appoint six of the nine members of the Board of Directors. Two of these are appointed by the Minister for Business, while Danish Industry (DI) appoints one member. Three members are appointed by respectively DANIAmet, a joint organization in metrology, the laboratory organisation Eurolab Denmark and three actors in the field of certification and inspection, which jointly appoints one member.
One member is appointed as the representative for consumers, and two members are employee representatives from DANAK.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS SETS UP COMMITTEES
The Board of Directors appoints the managing director of DANAK, approves the performance contract with the Danish Safety Authority and approves the annual budget. In addition, the Board of Directors may set up advisory committees that can support DANAK in the various areas covered by accreditation. The Board has established five committees of this type.
